Samsung has been a slow but steady learner as their phones are concerned. At the very beginning, they started to make phones in premium quality and higher price range. But as the market started to evolve, smartphones became a product of necessity rather than a luxury. People of all ages started to buy phones and use them on a regular basis. But not all of them can enjoy the luxurious and pricey products of Samsung. In this article, you can know about Samsung M31 Review.
As the come sources are pretty stiff, people have been looking for affordable options with the same power and features. Samsung understood that very, and they were quick to respond.
They introduced the J series. Which kinda worked as the bridge between the high end S series and the people with limited expenses. But that was surpassed quickly as the rival smartphone brands started to make much more affordable smartphones.
And
Samsung again was left behind in the race to achieve the ‘affordable budget smartphone’ title. So, they started to gather their thoughts again, make some new plans and started running according to it. The whole world was stunned when Samsung introduced the M Series. M stands for the Millennial. People who are the commoners with bigger dreams are the millennial. Youth is the Millennial.
The first wave of the M series smartphones was launched in the market in the early quarter of 2019. The phones were a huge success as people rushed to the stores to by one for them. The phones were well inside the budget, and the performance was worth it.
After the huge hit in the first season, Samsung backed themselves with yet another wave of M Series smartphones. This time the phones are much more efficient and upgraded in terms of the performance. One of the new set of phones is the brand new Samsung Galaxy M31. This phone has created a lot of hype in the market, and I got tons of messages from you guys to review this bad boy. Samsung was generous enough to hand us a review unit. So we are all set to give an honest review of the phone. Please do stay till the very end of the article!
Samsung Galaxy M31 Review: The Hype of M Series!
Samsung has been strategically genius to drop down the prices of this range of smartphone to fill up the gap between the medium-range smartphones and the desired budget smartphones, Samsung M31 review & specification. One of the plus points of Samsung is that they have built nearly all the parts and components all by themselves. So they have been successful in reducing the cost in such extend. Otherwise, that would have been next to possible for the smartphone brand to produce a budget smartphone with this kind of performance benchmarks.
The Samsung Galaxy M31 has been a great smartphone, as it has been advertised so far. But is it really worth your efforts and hard-earned money or it will fail in all the sectors? We are going to find that out for you guys.
As you guys know, I will go through in certain aspects which will tie all the loose ends about the understanding of the smartphone. The categories are:
- Design
- Display
- Performance
- Camera
- Battery
- Sensors and Other features
- Water Resistance
So without wasting any words, let us move on to the design of the all-new Samsung Galaxy A31.
The Design of Samsung Galaxy M31: The Plastic Plastic Plastic!
When we talk about the design of a certain smartphone, then the first thing which we look into is the built quality. We will have to keep that in mind that the phone which we are reviewing today is after all a budget range smartphone. So we cannot expect the brand to give us an aluminium frame or the glass back.
But that didn’t stop Samsung from experimenting with the phone. They have inserted some cool textures on the plastic body as well as the frame. On the brighter side, the plastic frames and back do reduce the weight dramatically.
The dimension of the phone is 6.27 inches in length, 2.96 inches in width and 0.35 inches in the breadth. The phone is slightly on the heavier side than the usual as it is weighted around 191 grams. The dimension and weight do complement each other.
And
We are speaking of the attributes. The phone has slight changes from that of the previous phones from the first wave. On the right side, we have the volume adjustment keys and the lock cum power button. The left side we have the dedicated SD Card Slot and the Dual SIM Card Slot. On the bottom, we have the USB Type C for fast charging, the speaker grills and the 3.5 mm headphone jack. Headphone jacks are kinda in a crisis as most of the phones are produced without it. But none can fulfil what these jacks used to offer. So good job Samsung for keeping the all-important headphone jack alive. Moving on, on the top we have the secondary noise-cancelling microphone.
The front is, of course, the screen which has an infinity notch. We will discuss that later on the display section. As far as the looks are concerned, this phone is available in three colours. The first one, which is the review unit of ours, is in Ocean Blue. The second one is probably my favourite; the Space Black. The newest edition in the colours section is the Red. I tell you what. The Red one is looking like a bomb.
And
Overall the design and the attributes of this smartphone is impressive. Honestly speaking, I like the dimension and the weight ratio in particular. Some will love the all-new colour variant. What might the case is, but people will surely love the all-new M series. The Brand New Samsung Galaxy M31 has my support in terms of the design and the build quality. So let us move on to the next criteria, which is the display of the M31.

The Display of Samsung Galaxy M31: The SUPER AMOLED Wonder!
Samsung is well known for producing perhaps the most successful and advanced screens so far. It is known as the AMOLED screens. This tech can save power at an alarming rate as well as give one of a kind viewing experience. Samsung has been using this screen in all its major and flagship phones.
Lucky for the fans and consumers, Samsung has been like a Santa and has fulfilled our wish of having such viewing experience well within our budget.
The all-new Samsung Galaxy M31 has been equipped with a 6.4 inches Super AMOLED Display. The screen comes in full high definition. That means the resolution is 1080 pixels into 2340 pixels. The screen comes with a U shaped notch. Samsung has named the notch as the Infinity U notch. The side bezels and the top and bottom bezels are pretty thin compared to the body. As a result, the screen to body ratio is almost close to 84.1 per cent. The aspect ratio of the phone is 19:5:9. The PPI density is counted up to 403 PPI.
Screen
The screen is a brilliant screen. But that screen needs some protection to keep the good performance going. The screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. This protection will save the screen from getting scratches and dust.
The display is very nice in terms of the colour balance and the sharpness of the motions. The refresh rate is pretty high, and the transitions are pretty smooth. It has a lot of brightness inbuilt. So you can have a decent viewing experience even in the bright light conditions.
People will love this screen as it is the best of Samsung. Kudos to Samsung for installing such a brilliant screen at this price point.
Now let us move on to one of my favourite segment, which is the performance of the Samsung Galaxy M31.
The Performance of the Samsung Galaxy M31: The Exynos Hype or Failure?
Before judging any smartphone in the performance criteria, we will have to understand the state or level of collaboration between the two units. The first unit is the Hardware unit. All the components and tiny parts are in citizens of the Hardware Unit. And the second unit is the Software Unit. All the programs and commands are installed as a form of the OS and UI. These are considered as the Software Unit. The better the relation between the two units, the better the performance of the phone will be. So, let us first see what is under the hood of the all-new Samsung M31.
Hardware
This phone is equipped with a chipset which is made in Samsung. The in-house chipset series is known as the Exynos Series. The model which is installed in this device is the Exynos 9611. This chipset has a 10 nm channel which passes data in lighting speed. The clock speed speaks for itself. This chipset has Octa-Core processing power. That means it runs on eight cores. The first four cores are clocked at 2.3 GHz which are known as the Cortex-A 73. The remaining four cores are clocked at 1.7 GHz which are the Cortex-A 53 cores. The graphics processing unit is from Mali, and the model is Mali G 72.
The RAM comes in a singular variant which is 6 GB. The internal storage is, however, comes in a 64 GB version and a 128 GB version. There is a dedicated SD Card Slot so that people can expand their storage.
Software
This phone runs in the latest Android Version 10. The UI is Samsung’s signature One UI, which also has been updated to Version 2.0. The User Interface is pretty much stock, but there are tons of additional features that can only benefit the Samsung phones.
Judging by the facts and the tests we have conducted, this phone is a decent one when it comes to the performance. The phone does quite a good job in the multitasking sector. But heavy gaming can be a bit dodgy as the chipset is not powerful enough. Overall, considering the price point, it is a pretty decent gig.
Now let us see what the cameras are made of.
The Cameras of the Samsung Galaxy M31: The Reverse L Pattern Quad Cameras!
This time, Samsung has gone for a different approach. The camera module is a different one from the usual. This time they have chosen the reverse ‘L’ pattern.
The first camera is a 26 mm wide-angle camera of 64 Mega Pixels with an aperture count of f/1.8. The second camera is a 12 mm Ultrawide camera. It is of 12 Mega Pixels, and the aperture is of f/2.2. The third one is a macro lens. It is of 5 Mega Pixels with f/2.4 aperture. The last camera is not actually a camera, rather than a depth sensor which is f/2.2 5 Mega Pixels.
The front camera is an f/2.0 32 Mega Pixels Camera.
The pictures are crisp, and the video can be done in 4k resolution in 30 fps from the rear camera without any image stabilization. But in 1080p@30fps, stabilization is included. Form the front cam. We can record up to 1080p@30fps.
The battery of Samsung Galaxy M31: The 6000 mAh Powerhouse
It has a staggering 6000 mAh Battery and to charge this bad boy Samsung has enables a 15 Watts fast-charging power brick.
Water Resistance
