After releasing the trending Vivo S1 android smartphone, the brand is back again with a more improved device dubbed Vivo S5. The device has been on the news for days now because of how the rear cameras are arranged; which makes the setup look similar to what we have on iPhone 11 Pro. In this new article, we are going to see what Vivo has got to offer with this recently introduced device and the expected price in Nigeria. But, before we get down to the full specifications, it should be noted that the Vivo S5 was yesterday listed on GeekBench, where some of the key specifications were revealed.

Display

Vivo S5 is matched with a pretty big 6.44-inch AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch at the top hosting the front selfie camera. The screen offers a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels with 396 ppi in pixel density. The screen produces excellent visuals with a responsive in-display fingerprint sensor.

Camera

We all know that this device may not match the latest Vivo X30 with a 108MP shooter, but the Quad rear camera setup on the standard variant is quite good. In fact, the camera arrangement ( Penta-Cam) in the higher variant as we have mentioned earlier is quite similar to that of the iPhone 11 Pro. Vivo S5 comes in two variants; the lowest variant has quad-camera setup at the back panel which includes an impressive 48MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro, and 2MP depth camera. The other variant comes with five cameras (Penta-cam) which includes 48MP + 8MP + 5MP + 2MP + 5MP cameras.These rear cameras can shoot 1080p videos which are quite impressive.  For selfies, both variants feature a massive 32MP front shooter that is also capable of delivering 1080p videos as well.

As for the battery, Vivo S5 is armed with a good 4010mAh battery which gives you a couple of days use with fair usage. The battery comes with a dual-engine fast charging technology which is quite impressive for a phone in its price range.

Configurations and Connectivity Options

Like we said earlier, the Vivo S5 has two variants available and the difference is just in the camera and storage capacity. Aside from this, both variants are powered by Snapdragon 712 chipset which is a decent mid-range SoC. For graphics, S5 sports an Adreno 616 GPU that ensures you get fast and lag-free graphics performance. The standard variant is equipped with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that is the expandable upto 256GB. The other variant features the same RAM but with 256GB of internal storage.

In terms of connectivity, Vivo S5 hosts Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

When available in the market, Vivo S5 price (8GB/128GB variant) is expected to be $264, which is approximately N95,800 in Nigeria. The phone is expected to be available in Blue, Green, Pink color.
