Redmi Note 8|Redmi Note 8 Pro review, full specs, and price in Nigeria

About two weeks ago, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi teased an unidentified upcoming smartphone with a massive 64MP camera sensor. According to the report, the upcoming smartphone will be dishing out high-quality pictures of up to 20MB big and will be one of the very first with such massive camera sensor. Now with the information in circulation, two new Android smartphones from the Redmi Note series will be launched on August 29. The phones are dubbed Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro and are the direct successors to the trending Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro that was released earlier this year in India.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro will be landing with some super dope features that will definitely leave tongues wagging. Although, the features of the standard Note 8 are still sketchy, but rumors have it that the Note 8 will be powered by Snapdragon 665 chipset while the Note 8 Pro will be driven by an Octa-core MediaTek Helio G90T processor;  based on Android 9 (Pie) and so many other interesting features at a great price in Nigeria. Display and Camera

The Redmi Note 8 will come with a pretty large AMOLED display, measuring 6.39 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and a waterdrop notch. The display is of the best quality and offers an impressive viewing experience for users. Based on the camera, the phone may feature a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP main sensor, a super wide-angle sensor, depth of field sensor, and a super macro lens as well for good quality shots.

The Redmi Note Pro, on the other hand, features a massive 64MP + 5MP + 2MP camera sensors. In fact, Xiaomi once revealed that the 64MP camera sensor can fire up to 25x zoom; given you the best mobile camera quality. For selfies, you get a 25MP on both smartphones, which some reports claim will be a pop up (not confirmed) selfie shooter.

Performance and Battery

In terms of performance, Redmi Note 8 is a step above the Redmi Note 7S( with Snapdragon 660) released a few months ago with its Snapdragon 665 chipset onboard. The new MediaTek Helio G90T chipset powers the Redmi Note 8 Pro alongside 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage for stable performance while gaming and multitasking. The memory and storage detail of the standard Note 8 is still not confirmed, but I believe before the launch date, every detail will be unveiled.

In terms of power, both Android smartphones are armed with 4500mAh battery capacity.  It can provide an ample amount of power backup to let users stay charged all through the day. Furthermore, there is also a Fast Charging technology that can refill the battery in a short duration.

Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro price is expected to start from $250 to $300 respectively. In Nigeria, the expected price is from N90,000 to N108,000 respectively. The price may be higher or lesser depending on your location. The phones are also expected to arrive in Black and Gold colour.
